Demolishing Walls, Building Dreams
The project commenced with the removal of walls that previously enclosed the formal dining room, landing, and great room. This bold move was not merely about altering the structure—it was about embracing a new way of living, where barriers gave way to openness and inclusivity.
The Heart of the Home
At the center of this newfound openness stands a magnificent island, a true masterpiece of design:
- Marble Countertop: The island is crowned with a stunning marble countertop, its veins telling a story of timeless elegance.
- Dark Cabinets: Beneath the marble, dark cabinets with deep storage drawers offer a striking contrast and ample space for culinary essentials.
- Seating for Seven: The island is not just a culinary workstation but also a social hub, with seating for seven, inviting family and friends to gather around.
A Symphony of Cabinets and Appliances
Our designers meticulously curated the kitchen's lower sections and appliance banks:
- Double Ovens: Encased in dark cabinets, the double ovens stand ready to cater to the clients' baking and roasting needs.
- Pantry and Refrigeration: A vast pantry area was installed next to an industrial-size refrigerator, ensuring that every ingredient has its place.
Light and Shadow Play
The white upper cabinets provide a visual breath of fresh air, harmonizing with the quartz countertops that house the in-counter cooktop and sink. Above the cooktop, a stainless-steel rangehood serves as a modern focal point, while the backsplash features off-white, almost mother-of-pearl subway tiles, adding a subtle iridescence to the space.
Illuminating Design Choices
Lighting plays a pivotal role in this kitchen's ambiance:
- Recessed Lighting: Strategically placed throughout the kitchen, recessed lighting offers a warm, diffused glow.
- Chandelier: A statement piece in its own right, a round glass and rose gold chandelier hangs above the island, casting an elegant light and enhancing the room's aesthetic.
The Finishing Touch
The transformation concluded with the installation of new, light-colored wood-look flooring, providing a foundation that is both practical and stylish, echoing the kitchen's modern yet welcoming theme.
